Carlos: no way! what happened?

Me: I did, with a girl on it

Carlos: who? were the both of you alright?

Me: yeah, we were just a bit shaken up. a lady cut me off from the opposite direction about fifty feet ahead and stopped in the middle of the road, and I was going about 25 mph. Normally that's not a big deal, but the rain was coming down hard.

Carlos: ...

Me: I braked slowly at first, but I knew it wasn't going to be enough. When I hit my rear brake, the rear started to swerve and I knew the jig was up. It tipped onto its right side just one foot away from hitting the car. my scooter got scratched up on the exact same spot as the first time I crashed, my right mirror was totally demolished, and my rear right turn signal burnt out.

Carlos: who was with you?

Me: a girl I worked with, her name is Ruth

Me: and she's cute

Carlos: yea you told me about her yesterday, or a few days ago

Me: she had her arms all the way around me, and she was resting her head on my back, we were soaking wet after a hard day at the bakery, I was driving her home and everything was just perfect.

Carlos: ..man

Me: and then I was cut off. Talk about ruining the mood.
