missing wallet

There is still hope for humanity!

I know, I'm just as surprised as you are. What am I talking about!? Oh right, I haven't told you.

I lost my wallet several days ago. I know, big whoop. There was nothing of much material value in there, only nine dollars, so I should just get a new one right?

You're fucking missing the point. Misplacing my wallet gives hours of ammunition to those who seek to assail me with verbal assaults of "Of course you'd lose it, you're completely irresponsible, it was only a matter of when." How I loathe that! And I can't defend myself properly because I have nothing to defend!

Ah, but I'm forgetting myself. My wallet was returned to me today in the mail, with everything intact, and no money taken (and a little included note saying how pretty the picture of my girlfriend in there looked). The senders even wrote another note and sent it with the wallet:

"August 28, 2003

"David,

"My kids and I found your wallet on the Lincoln bus yesterday. I thought that it would be better to drop it off to you at the address on your ID, since it's not that far from the place, but I am just too busy. I am putting it in the mail and hope that you get it, because you would get it faster with me putting it in the mail then the CTA getting it to you. So I hope you get this.

"Oh, you're welcome. :o)"

The big white envelope has a postage mark in the top right corner, it costed $1.11 to mail it.

But there is no return address to thank them, the only way I know how is on here.

Thank you.
