a job?

Oh man, I did something stupid. I know you'll laugh, but I'm telling you anyway.I shaved. Yep, stupid thing to fret about right? I shouldn'tve shaved though, but I did. It was a weird spur of the moment kind of thing. I walked into the bathroom fully intending to take a shower, and when I took a look at myself in the mirror, I said to myself "Why not?" When that razor went down my chin, I remembered why not. My younger sister says I look like a dark-haired Harry Caray. Yeah, thanks. My older sister said that I look like a baby's ass, and that I'm the only person she knows that looks better with facial hair. Yeah, you too, thanks.
Hey, in better news, I think I may have a job. There's a new restaurant opening up a few blocks away, in this very trendy neighborhood called Lincoln Square. I was walking by with Jen the other day when I saw a sign that read "ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR ALL RESTAURANT POSITIONS ON THE 18TH AND 19TH BETWEEN 11am AND 6pm." So I made a mental note, and went back on Monday morning. The name of the new restaurant I saw was Spare Time. I wanted to be a waiter, but I'm still a minor. I explained that to them but I also said that I'll be eighteen in about two and a half months. So I filled out an application for the busser position. I struck up a conversation with the man and woman who seemed to be in charge there when I turned in my application, and I charmed the pants off them. I got them laughing and we kept each other going for more than an hour. The man, Antoine, even started to flirt with me. Heh heh, oops. I figured that at working part time at minimum wage, I need to work for about seven weeks before I can get the manual SLR camera kit that I want, (camera body, several lenses, filters, strap, tripod, case, a motor drive, maybe some flash accessories, etc.) not that piece of shit that I had to use for taking yearbook photos (though I still loved that camera because it turned me on to photography in the first place when I was a sophomore). Then another week after that I'll buy different kinds of film, and one more week after that I'll buy several photography books I saw at the used book store on the same block. I don't know if I have the job or that I'll get it, but that won't stop me from hoping.
